500 mile walk for charity
Fundraising Target: $3,000
Amount raised so far: $420

Update
Hattie completed her walk, and sent us a fascinating account
of her experiences. Check it out!
Hattie Medvei, who worked in Creel with Father Verplancken for some time, has
taken on another challenge. She is doing a 500 mile walk to raise money
for the Tarahumara Children's
Hospital Fund and the Macmillan Cancer
Relief Fund in England. Here's the details from Hattie:

I am walking over 500 miles up north through the whole of Scotland, from
Durham in England, where I was at university, to John o'Groats in the very north
of Scotland. I am doing this to raise money for the Mission and for Macmillan
Cancer Relief, and have already got about £700 (approx $1250) pledged,
as long as I complete the walk!
I will leave Durham Cathedral, England, on the 7th August 2005 to walk over
500 miles (over 800km) north up the whole length of Scotland to John o'Groats. I
will be camping or staying in youth hostels all the way and carry everything I
need, although food supplies will be regularly restocked!! I have until 9th
September to complete the walk, but may finish sooner.
Please sponsor me on this site to help the Tarahumara Children's Hospital
Fund continue their amazing work for the Tarahumara people.
I am also doing my walk for a UK charity, Macmillan
Cancer Relief (Reg. Charity No: 261017), a UK charity that works to improve the quality of life for
people living with cancer. It would be great if you could visit
http://www.justgiving.com/hattiewalks500miles to sponsor me there
too.

is part of Mark Moxon's site about the whole of the Land's End to John o'Groats
walk (a walk which goes from the south of England right up to the north of
Scotland). I'm linking up about 5 days after the start of my walk with this
route to go right up through the whole of Scotland, and this link is the route
map of that part of the walk, because I guess there will be quite a lot of
people who don't know where John o'Groats is!!
Thank you very much for your support.
