I. The Tarahumara Mission

The Tarahumara Mission's core ministry is the Clinic of St. Theresa. It was Started over 35 years ago as a small clinic by Father Luis G. Verplancken, S.J. With Fr. Verplancken's nurturing and guidance these past 35 years, the small clinic has grown into a modern full-service 75 bed hospital. The hospital staff includes six doctors, eight nursing nuns and 20 nurse students. The hospital also has a pharmacy, lab, and dental service.

II. The Tarahumara Children's Hospital Fund

The Tarahumara Children's Hospital Fund is a 501(c)(3) not for profit corporation organized in 1984 to promote the health and education of underprivileged children. The corporation officers and staff are volunteers. Many services are provided at no cost to the TCHF. Expenses are limited to office supplies, printing and postage.

III. Donate Free Hospital Care web page

The "Donate Free Hospital Care" web page was inspired by The Hunger Site Donate free food page. Hospital care is critical for the Tarahumara population of over 60,000. Many live long distances from the hospital. Some must travel several days over rough mountain terrain to get to the hospital. Some primary reasons for admitting include malnutrition and intestinal diseases.

IV. Sponsors and Donors, how it works.

Sponsors and donors together can make free hospital care continue. TCHF is looking for established companies willing to become sponsors for one week or more. You are invited to help find sponsors. The more sponsors the site has in a given week the greater the DONATE FREE HOSPITAL CARE donation total. For example, a one minute donation with 5 sponsors equals 5 minutes of hospital care, 10 sponsors equals 10 minutes of care. You are encouraged to print these sponsorship facts and take them to people at your company for review and consideration.

V. Costs and Benefits

Costs/Benefits: Sponsorship cost is $25.00 per week. At over 1,000 visitors per week, the cost is less than .01 cent per advertising impression.
