Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah was ranked as one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation for 2014 by US News and World Report
More than 50 hospitals across the country were ranked in various areas of specialty including cancer, cardiology, heart surgery, diabetes care and more. Primary Children’s hospital was at or near the top in 5 of the categories judged. This comes as no surprise since the hospital has been amongst the top ranked for most of the last 20 years.
Parents of children with serious illness can take comfort in the fact that their child is getting some of the best care available in the nation. US News & World Report has been doing these rankings since 2007 and they put a strong emphasis on survival rates, staff competency, volume of procedures and many more important measurables.
In order to determine which data was most important in determining the best hospitals, the magazine surveyed approximately 110 pediatric centers. In addition, they asked the pediatric specialists to which hospitals they were most likely to send their children with the most serious illnesses.
